[2007/08/23 19:23] Cid Jacobs: The first life in the universe appeared on a small foggy world, after ages of destruction and fear permeating though the entire society, a police force was developed to combat the villainy of the world.
[2007/08/23 19:23] Cid Jacobs: These brave souls were the first police force in the universe - and to light their way through the foggy and blackest of nights - they carried a small lantern, lit with a green chemical flame.
[2007/08/23 19:23] Cid Jacobs: For eons, this green flame has stood as a symbol of law and justice and its ability to pierce confusion and uncertainty, and today, you six carry on this tradition.
[2007/08/23 19:24] Cid Jacobs: Although you are now part of something bigger, ever growing and changing, I hope that you will always feel at home in Oa and the Green Lantern Core.

[2007/08/23 19:27] Jeff Beckenbauer: I say family because we are no longer just an organization. We have had our bad times...

[2007/08/23 19:27] Jeff Beckenbauer: ... and we have had our good times. Like all families there are troubles, but in the end, we gather together to celebrate being together through it all.

[2007/08/23 19:28] Jeff Beckenbauer: That is what we are, a family with long standing traditions, noble ideals and a strong code of ethics.

[2007/08/23 19:28] Jeff Beckenbauer: We are a family; we are a peacekeeping organization; we are a bohemian commune, where we bring forth our ideas into virtual reality; and last but not least, we are an ideal.
[2007/08/23 19:29] Jeff Beckenbauer: We can not be dashed away by the actions of one individual, nor can we be brought down with the whispers of the envious. For we are no longer just a group of individuals that love a comic book, we are an ideal.
[2007/08/23 19:29] Jeff Beckenbauer: We are an ideal, one in which puts the weak before the strong, much like our superhero comic book counter part.
[2007/08/23 19:29] Jeff Beckenbauer: We are an ideal, to take up the torch of creativity and cause a brushfire of new ideas.
[2007/08/23 19:30] Jeff Beckenbauer: The Green Lantern Core is an idea, one which I am very proud to be apart of, and one in which I hope these graduates before you will also feel pride.
